The new charger has the latest battery charging technology. This includes the Delta V Charging that ensures fully charged batteries and has cut off and safety timers to prevent over charging of the batteries.  Now that is a brief technical review. The important thing is that it recharges very fast so you can get back in service quicker.  You can see on the attached spec sheets the charging times.  Here are a few of them. 

Notes:

• AA, C, and D charging current is based on the number of batteries in each bay
• One battery per bay will give maximum charging current and shortest charging times
• Two batteries per bay reduces charging current therefore increasing charge time
• Only one battery size can be charged per charging cycle
